USA - Regular Visa Requirements

TYPE OF VISA: B1-B2 visa classification is for tourists on vacation and people coming for medical treatment, a social event, or participation in amateur contests for no pay.

Tourist

  • Original, signed passport*: Passport must have at least 6 months remaining validity on the date of travel and have at least 2 blank pages. Note. Some countries are accepted with less than six months validity, click here for info.  
  • Passport-type photograph: Two recent (not older than 3 months), USA standard 5 x 5 cm (2” by 2”), color photo with white or grey background.  
  • Proof of Status: Original Residence card (BRP), this should be valid for more than 3 months after your return from travel. 
  • Evidence of previously issued U.S. visas: If you are no longer in possession of the passport(s) containing the visas, you may advise the consular officer at the time of your interview you can include a statement with your application.
  • ACRO Police Report - DBS certificate
  • Bank statements:Original or copy of 3 months bank statements. Financial ability for travel should show £50 per day of stay abroad. Plus sufficient funds to pay the cost of the travel & accommodation.
  • Hotel Reservations:Copy of confirmed hotel reservations including name of the applicant, name and address of the hotel, duration of stay. OR letter of invitation/ accommodation.
  • Copy of itinerary: Confirmed tickets, must be showing exact dates of travel and destination.
  • Personal Data Form: download, sign and print.
  • USA application form: download, sign and print.


    Note.You will need to attend an Interview. Applicants aged 14 – 79 are required to appear in person for an interview with a consular officer.

    Minors

  • Confirmation of Student Status: Original letter from your school (on letterhead) (not older than one month).The Letter must be addressed to the Embassy / High Commission.
  • Declaration: Parents' declaration stating permission to travel.
  • Parent's passport: Scanned Copy of passports.
  • Original Birth Certificate: Should show names of the child and name of the parents.

    Note. Form to be signed by both parents.





    *If your passport is damaged, we recommend that you obtain a new passport before applying for the visa to avoid any delay in the processing of your application

    ** A mental disorder which is associated with display of harmful behavior, or are a drug abuser or addict is very likely to be considered as ineligible to receive a visa. If this is the case, they will require a waiver of ineligibility in order to travel.
