NOTE. Travelers who can not apply for an e-TA MUST hold a different travel documentation:
- Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, need a valid Canadian Passport.
- American-Canadians can travel with a valid Canadian or U.S. passport.
- Canadian permanent residents need a valid permanent residence permit or permanent residence travel document.

Some citizens from Brazil, Bulgaria and Romania will be able to apply for an ETA.
Those citizens that are not eligible for ETA MUST apply for a regular Visa.
Travelers who:
- Held a Canadian visa in the past 10 years, or
- currently hold a valid United States non-immigrant visa,
and who will:
- fly through Canada airport using a Brazilian, Bulgarian or Romanian passport, coming for a short visit, business or tourist will need a valid visa to enter Canada.
- enter Canada by land or sea MUST have a valid visa.
Note. Travelers who already have a valid Canadian visa do not need an e-TA.
Canadian Citizens Must apply for a Canadian passport in order to enter Canada. They can not apply for an ETA.
If you are a student you MUST apply for work / study permit visa.
